A business creator who neglects their core services pays a heavy price in the first six months. Domiciliation, electronic invoicing, professional bank account, insurance: these functional building blocks condition the ability to issue compliant invoices, collect payments, and meet legal obligations from day one of activity.
Electronic invoicing: the service to set up even before registration
Since September 1, 2026, every business must be able to receive electronic invoices. Issuing invoices will become mandatory for SMEs and micro-enterprises on September 1, 2027. Waiting for the first customer invoice to choose compatible software means starting with a regulatory handicap.
We recommend selecting the dematerialization platform (approved PDP or public invoicing portal) during the drafting phase of the articles of association. The choice of invoicing software also determines compatibility with the future accountant and the format of entries transmitted to the tax administration.
Approved platforms are subject to enhanced requirements: continuous monitoring of security measures, rapid reporting of incidents, regular intrusion testing. To understand how to articulate these obligations with the rest of your launch, the detailed services on Bizness Plan cover each operational building block to be put in place.

Professional bank account and choice of legal structure
The separation between personal assets and professional assets begins with the opening of a dedicated business bank account. In SASU or SARL, this account is mandatory for the deposit of share capital. In micro-enterprises, the legal obligation has been relaxed, but operating without a dedicated account complicates the traceability of flows and bank reconciliation.
The choice of legal form (SASU, SAS, SARL, sole proprietorship) is not just a tax issue. It directly conditions the services to subscribe to:
- In SASU, drafting the articles of association requires designating a president and defining decision-making procedures, which often necessitates legal support from the outset.
- In a micro-enterprise, the activity declaration is simplified, but the lack of asset separation exposes the creator if professional liability insurance is not subscribed.
- In SARL, the formalities of publishing a legal notice and filing with the registry generate fixed costs to budget before the first euro of revenue.
We observe that many creators choose their legal status based on taxation, only to discover after registration that the associated services (accounting, social regime of the manager, reporting obligations) do not match their management capacity at startup.
Cybersecurity and backup: a basic service, not a luxury
The reform of electronic invoicing has highlighted a blind spot: the security of digital access from the outset. A self-employed person who uses the same password for their email, invoicing software, and banking space exposes themselves to a chain compromise.
Three actions to implement before the first client:
- Activate two-factor authentication on each online service (banking, invoicing, professional email).
- Set up automatic backup of accounting documents and contracts, ideally on a distinct encrypted storage service separate from the workstation.
- Separate the professional email address from the personal address to limit the attack surface in case of phishing.
These measures require neither a significant budget nor advanced technical skills. They are of the same priority level as subscribing to insurance.

ACRE and insurance: two systems to check before starting
Since January 2026, ACRE is no longer automatically granted. The creator must check their eligibility and compile a file within the allotted time. Missing this step means paying social contributions at the full rate from the first quarter, which can represent a significant gap in the cash flow of a young business.
On the insurance side, professional liability insurance (RC Pro) remains the foundation. Certain regulated activities legally require it (construction, financial consulting, health). For others, the absence of RC Pro does not constitute an offense, but an unpaid invoice or a client dispute without coverage can end the activity in a few weeks.
Multi-risk insurance or RC Pro only
For a service activity without a commercial premises, RC Pro alone is sufficient in most cases. As soon as a premises accommodates the public or stores equipment, professional multi-risk insurance becomes the standard. The cost depends on the projected revenue and the sector of activity, not just on the chosen legal form.
Domiciliation and reporting obligations at launch
The domiciliation address appears on every official document: invoices, legal notices on the website, Kbis extract. Domiciling your business at home is possible under certain conditions (lease, co-ownership regulations), but the chosen address impacts the CFE and the associated tax center.
Commercial domiciliation companies offer an address in a targeted geographical area and a mail forwarding service. For a sole proprietor, this service avoids exposing their personal address on public databases.
The activity declaration at the INPI single window remains the administrative entry point. Online formalities have simplified the process, but the creator must have prepared in advance the choice of APE code, a precise description of the activity, and, if applicable, the signed articles of association and proof of capital deposit.
Every omitted core service at startup generates costly administrative catch-up in the following months. Electronic invoicing, cybersecurity, verification of ACRE, and choice of domiciliation are not always included in traditional business creation guides, but these are the building blocks that determine whether the activity actually functions from the first month.
